OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE DIGITAL MEDIA PLATFORM
FOR THE NATIONAL YOUTH SUMMIT
Tomorrow Tuesday, 22nd January 2013, the Digital Media Platform for the National Youth Summit will officially be launched by the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Bitange Ndemo at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) at 6.00 p.m.
This multi-media platform is a web portal where young people will be able to register for the National Youth Summit to be held at the KICC on 31st January and 1st February 2013. The platform has an SMS enabled function and is linked to social media tools, such as Facebook and Twitter.
The media platform is therefore a place where the youth will access and share information on peace-building, entrepreneurship, leadership and governance during and beyond the summit. Young people in Kenya and in the Diaspora will all have an opportunity to send peace pledges through live streaming.
Over 2000 young accountable leaders from all the 47 counties will assemble for the two day event. The summit is part of an extensive process that supports dialogue on how the youth can be the drivers of peaceful co-existence and accountable government as a critical foundation for a prosperous Kenya.
At the launch, several celebrities including Octopizzo, Wahu, Anto NeoSoul and Eko Dydda are expected to endorse the platform and register for the summit.
Venue: KICC – Caucus Room 109/110
Date and Time: Tuesday, 22nd January 2013, from 6.00p.m to 9.00p.m.
